About Somalia’s productive sector and investment opportunities

Somalia’s agricultural sector is ripe with opportunity, boasting 8.9 million hectares of fertile land ideal for growing sesame, lemons, cereals, bananas, and various fruits and vegetables. The country also offers regions perfect for producing high-value resins like frankincense and myrrh, and Gum Arabic.

Agriculture and livestock are crucial to Somalia’s economy, contributing 60% to the GDP, employing 80% of the population, and making up 90% of exports. With two major rivers providing ample irrigation, Somalia is already the 7th largest producer of sesame globally, highlighting its significant potential.

Despite these advantages, the sector remains underutilized. This conference aims to change that. It’s a prime opportunity for investors to explore new markets and create profitable partnerships.
